사각 빗물받이의 파손 현상 (Fragile Square Catch Basin)
시중에 출시되는 빗물받이의 경우 사각형 또는 직사각형 제품이 많습니다. 그러나, 사실 맨홀의 경우 사각형 보다 원형의 제품이 여러가지 측면에서 우수하다고 분석되었습니다. 그 이유는 다음과 같습니다.
The use of square manhole is becoming common, but actually round shape gives more benefit than square and rectangular shape. Below are the reasons.
1. 외부토압에 의한 파손위험이 낮아진다.
빗물받이는 땅속에 매설되는 제품이기에 시간이 지날 수록 제품 외부로 부터의 토압을 받게 됩니다.
사각 빗물받이의 경우 총 사면이 압력을 받게 되며, 힘을 받는 면이 평면입니다. 이는 원형과 똑같은 두께일 지라도 파손될 위험이 높아지게 됨을 의미합니다. 깊이가 깊어질수록 더욱 그렇습니다.
1. The Round body promotes durability to endure deformation and damage caused by earth pressure.
Catch basins are buried in nature under the ground, so they are becoming pressed as time goes on.
Round sections experience no bending moment in the horizontal plane and accordingly they require less reinforcement. This allows round precast manhole sections to be installed at great depths without increasing the wall thickness of the structure.
2. 모서리가 없어 제품의 생산, 관리, 포장, 시공에 훨씬 유리하다.
원형 맨홀 설치시에도 땅을 파야하는 면적이 사각에 비해 적고, 생산, 운반 중에도 모서리로 인한 파손 가능성이 줄어듭니다.
2. It also has several manufacturing, management, installation and design advantages.
Round manholes require smaller excavations to install, with an absence of corners, and no “lining-up” of edges to achieve a fit between the risers. Also, it has fewer corners and edges that can be damaged during manufacturing or handling.
